Syllabus and Exam Schedule
The AP Computer Science A exam has two parts, and takes 3 hours. The first part has 40 multiple-choice questions. The second part has 4 free response questions, which require writing Java code by hand. Each part is of 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Multiple-choice exams cover topics which include data types, control structures, methods, arrays, object-oriented programming, recursion and algorithms. The free-response questions can require to write Java code, trace and debug code, analyze code snippets,
and providing written explanations of your solutions.
